Media articles: Multinational corporations: Greedy?
Thanks to Melissa, we have some articles from the media (if you consider the "Metro Today" one of the daily papers). The first is about multinational corporations, and the other is about new and creative ways of demonstrating, since the G8 summit is underway in Kananaskis, Alberta.
The article "Multinational corporations: Good employers or greedy?"here (in PDF) raises some interesting questions. What do you guys think of the questions in that handout?
The article: 'Revolutionaries' aim to knit one, purl one, at G-8 here (in PDF) cites 'Raging grannies join cyclists to try to force world change'. One question for you is: Are any of these mustard seed movements? Can they be? Think about Martin Luther King Jr. and how he advocated non-violent resistance - as a third way. What other "third ways" can you think of?
Henry and I will be away this weekend, so Peter will take over the discussion this week. Have a good Canada Day Weekend, I'll see you back next week.
peace.
Quote of the Week
"Live your lives free from the tyranny of popular
culture, which would have you believe that wealth,
pleasure, power, status, and youthful looks will
bring you happiness and satisfaction. This is simply
not true."
