Help wanted: seeking missions

Some of you know I'm pursuing serving in short term missions this fall. I've sent out an email to some people I've respected for their heart, their missions, their involvement.

Here is my story.

I'm searching for a short term missions trip in the fall. I'm graduating at the end of this summer and then I'm looking for roughly a two month missions trip and then I will be travelling in Asia for at least another month and a half.

I wish I sent this out earlier, as my lead time is very short, if I want to go in September.

So, I'd like to ask each of you a favour:
1) to please pray for my decision,
2) let me know of any opportunities you know.
3) If you have any contacts you know may help, pass on my information to them, or pass me their contact info?

I will be finishing my studies in Administrative Studies (ie Commerce) and Information Technology in early-mid August.

  • Desired mission orientation: social-justice development.
  • Talents I would like to bring to use: information technology skills (information infrastructure development, e-business design, internet development, consulting, programming, project mgmt), photojournalist, and music (I play guitar, sing, lead worship).
  • Target country/area/culture: I'm open. My heart is leaning towards Asia, in general.
  • Target length: 6 weeks - 2 months.

In addition, I will be travelling in Asia and Australia at the end of fall (around a month and a half to two months). I hope to be able to connect with different missionaries and organizations as I travel. I will be compiling stories and photos into some form (my website, maybe a book). I'd love to get some contacts to start connecting with.

Anyways, please prayerfully consider these thoughts. I hope as my journey with God progresses, that my dreams really are God's dreams, and not my own selfish ones.

    peace and soli deo gloria!
